Library

The library, located next to the AJLS lounge, is open for anyone to use. With over 5,000 books available, including Japanese children books, manga, and novels for adults, there is something for everyone. It’s open on Saturdays from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM during regular school hours.

HIYOKO Room 🐣

The HIYOKO Room provides a play space for children who have not yet entered kindergarten, along with their guardians. While it’s a small space within the AJLS lounge, you’re welcome to use Japanese children’s books and toys freely. It’s also an ideal spot for playdates in Japanese if other children are there. It’s open on Saturdays from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM during regular school hours.
Please note that drop-offs are not allowed, and the HIYOKO Room is limited to Japanese speakers only.

Amherst Japanese Language School is always looking for individuals interested in educating children.
・Work Schedule: Every Saturday from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM (except during summer break and holidays)
・Location: South Hadley, MA
・Qualifications: No particular qualifications required, but a love for working with children is essential. 　
　Teaching license or English proficiency is not necessary.
